Upon Arlene’s retirement in January, Fr. Gilbaugh hired Bill to serve as the new Office Manager for both St. John Vianney and Holy Family parishes. Bill is a longtime resident of the Gallatin Valley, and brings with him a wealth of experience from years working in the high-tech sector as a Chief Financial Officer for multiple area businesses. Having chosen to leave the intense pace of corporate life behind to finish out his career serving the Church, Bill is a great asset to our parish and its operations.
Bill was born and raised in Billings and attended the Catholic schools there, eventually attending MSU for college where he received a degree in geophysics. He and his wife Diane were married in 1980 and have two adult daughters, both of whom now live out of state. Bill’s favorite pastimes include playing the piano and traveling – most especially on Marian pilgrimages to places such as Fatima, Medjugorje, and Lourdes. He notes that he has had the privilege of being at Fatima for the 100th anniversary of the Miracle of the Sun, where he was also able to hear Andrea Bocelli sing in the basilica there.
Bill sees his new position as having drawn him “full circle”, inasmuch as he was raised in a thoroughly Catholic world, then spent many decades in a secular environment, before now returning to a Catholic one, where he is very grateful to once again be.
